i have complained since 2010 when the VW 2010 golf TDI was purchased 'new" that there was a hesitation in the engine , or a "skip", for only a fraction of a second. At least three times the dealer service has said that there is nothing wrong. I own a dodge diesel manual , and a Mercedes 2006 CDI auto, and a John Deere 2140 tractor and have never experienced anything similar when running these engines.

Most frequently this occurs at 1800 -2000 rpm in 3rd gear but has occurred at various other gears and rpms.

SO ! AM I PRESCIENT IN THINKG THAT THE LATEST RECALL FOR FUEL LINE REPLACEMENT, because of synchronization of fuel lines at certain loads might be a serendipitous explanation of the problem that had been noted by me???

HELP!

Just purchased a 2011 Golf Highline TDI Wagon and I love it.
However, a funny think happened on a cool evening.
Upon start up I noticed that the centre console/dash lights were flashing and the foot well lights were on dim. Nothing would make it stop. Tried restarting, headlights off/on. Lock/unlock with key fob and interior buttons. Played with dash dimmer switch. Nothing worked. Had to drive home with disco flashing dash lights at night. Very annoying. Upon checking the internet, this same complaint has been registered by VW owners for the past TEN YEARS!! When I started it up the next morning the problem was gone. Took the car to my local dealer and they said it's the first they have heard about it so I told them about the internet complaints. I will keep you posted as I"m waiting to hear for VW Canada.
